Honey-Glazed Chicken
βHoney-Glazed Chickenβ is a poetic short film inspired by the personal experience of changing family dynamics. With a mixture of photography, animation, diagrams, and collages, this film explores emotional change and familial relationships in a poetic and analytical way. The honey-glazed chicken is an open metaphor, leaving room for the audience to reflect on what they regard as βgood enough to share.β

βThe scene of me with my younger self in my short film, is the most important scene. It serves as a personal reference to my journey throughout this project and in my personal life. The scene shows that I can look back at my younger, happy self and have compassion for her. It shows that we are not so different. Two individuals who seek and find joy through food and family. We like the simple pleasures, we freely laugh, and we feel loved.
My intention for this project was to focus on my positive relationships with others, and heal the relationship I have with myself. By mindfully observing my emotions while eating with others, I have connected with the child I forgot was a part of me.β
